Auditions for Wild Party

“Don’t you wanna be the life of the party?!”

AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:

Please prepare (1) a monologue of approximately one minute and (2) one musical theatre song in the correct style of the role you are seeking. (NOTE: The roles of Queenie, Kate, Burrs, and Black all have strong belts.) Vocal auditions must have an accompaniment track (CD, mp3, etc. or may be a cappella, if need be), as there will not be an accompanist present. Your song should show your vocal range as well as your ability to create and embody character and tell a story through music. Truthful, honest connection to the material is paramount for both singing and acting.

Seeking nine (9) adult women, ten (10) adult men. All roles are open for this production.

There will be a dance/movement audition. Please be prepared to learn a short routine and bring comfortable dance attire & Jazz/Character shoes to auditions.

*** ALL ROLES contain some hyper-sexual and bi-sexual explicit moments. Actors need to be comfortable with body-to-body contact while dancing (The Juggernaut) and intimate moments between characters both male and female. ***

Call-Backs will be individually scheduled for Tuesday, July 23rd, or as needed.

Please bring a list of all potential conflicts including travel, etc. Any conflicts with the posted schedule must be discussed with the Director before casting can be confirmed.

PLOT DESCRIPTION: In this steamy prohibition tale, lovers Queenie and Burrs decide to throw the party-to-end-all-parties in their Manhattan apartment. After the colorful arrival of a slew of guests living life on the edge, Queenie’s wandering eyes land on a striking man named Black. As the decadence is reaching a climax, so is Burrs’ jealousy, which erupts and sends him into a violent rage. Gun in hand and inhibitions abandoned, Burrs turns on Queenie and Black. The gun gets fired, but who’s been shot?
